Marina Rao (aka VJ Psyberpixie) isn’t the whole show, but she’s a hell of an accompaniment.
Her mind-bending graphics, patterns and images have fired up performances by a variety of artists— from global stars Moby and Paul van Dyk to Israeli trancers Infected Mushroom and alt-rockers Jane’s Addiction—making their gigs memorable ones for their fans.

Observers of last year’s CWA ceremony will remember 2007 Best Resident VJ nominee Marina Rao, aka Psyberpixie, for her “micro” cuts and technospiritual montages of ancient cultures, cyberpunk and psychedelia. Looking like she stepped out of a fast-action anime, Marina Rao, aka Psyberpixie, is an emerging VJ whose on-the-fly blends splash across Revolution’s many plasmas and single centerstage big screen. The first of the two, ‘Psyberpixie by Psyberpixie’, open with proof that Psyberpixie gives good head…as brightly posterised Wharholesque heads on a trio of TV screens jump back and forth in the opposite direction to the stone carved Javanese temple heads above them…a theme that is reprised in the following clip, albeit with a different colour scheme.
Next is a clip of a street in a China town, with added shake…at least I think i...

It will happen, at least in two dimensions. In her Aventura studio, Marina Reno, a.k.a. VJ Psyberpixie, double-clicks on one of the frames shot with her digital video recorder on a recent trip toJakarta. “During the wars in Indonesia, that’s what they used to do,” she says. “They used to go out and cut off the heads of the statues — the people that wanted to get rid of the Buddhists. I like this one...
